Finalists revealed for mobility excellence awards

The finalists have been announced for the 2026 Mobility Technology Excellence Awards, setting the stage for a major celebration of Australia’s mobility engineering sector in Melbourne this month.
Eighteen companies and individuals have been selected as finalists by the judging panel, recognising achievements across engineering innovation, leadership, sustainability and contribution to the mobility industry.
Now the attention turns to the 2026 Mobility Technology Excellence Awards Dinner on September 10, when the winners will be revealed.
The finalists, announced in alphabetical order, are Blind Speed Pty Ltd; Bortana Pty Ltd; Chris Murphy, Relativity Engineering Group; Dovetail Electric Aviation; FMP Group Australia – Bendix; Harrison Crofts, Monash University; Li Meng, Adelaide University; Lockelec Rolling Stock Pty Ltd; Luminous Robotics Pty Ltd; MoTeC Pty Ltd; Premcar Pty Ltd; Raj Murugan, Robert Bosch (Australia) Pty Ltd; Robert Bosch (Australia) Pty Ltd; Sajani Siriwardene, Deakin University; Segula Technologies Australia; Stella Butzkueven, Segula Technologies; Subha Suryanarayanan, Robert Bosch (Australia) Pty Ltd; Tanzila Momin Dix, Metro Trains; and Walkinshaw Automotive Group.
The awards recognise both individuals and organisations helping shape the future of mobility engineering, with categories covering corporate achievement, Woman Mobility Engineer of the Year, Young Mobility Engineer of the Year and Significant Services to the Mobility Engineering Sector.
The next generation of engineers is also recognised, with awards for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
With the finalists now confirmed, members of the mobility engineering community are being encouraged to attend the dinner to discover who will take home the awards.
The event will be held from 6pm to 10pm at Leonda by the Yarra, 2 Wallen Road, Hawthorn, and will bring together engineers, industry representatives, companies and emerging talent from across the sector.
As well as revealing the winners, the evening will provide an opportunity for the industry to network and celebrate the achievements of those contributing to mobility engineering.
Tickets cost $195 for individual SME-A members and $225 for non-members, excluding GST. Tables of 10 are available for $1850 for members and $2050 for non-members, excluding GST.
Registrations close at 5pm on September 1, with both members and non-members invited to attend.
With the finalists now revealed, the September 10 awards dinner will provide the answer to the remaining question: who will be declared the winners?
