The Accessible Mobility System: Engineering the Next Decade of Inclusive Transport

The Society of Mobility Engineers - Australasia (SME-A) is pleased to present its 2027 Technical Symposium.

The symposium will be held in Adelaide in the first week of August 2027. A suitable venue is currently being secured, with the date and location to be confirmed once arrangements are finalised.

About the Symposium

The symposium will bring together engineers, researchers, government representatives, transport providers, disability advocates and mobility specialists to explore how emerging transport technologies and systems can be designed for accessibility from the outset, rather than adapted after the fact.

The event will provide an opportunity to share knowledge, showcase innovation and discuss the engineering, technology, policy and infrastructure needed to create more inclusive transport systems for the future.

Call for Papers

SME-A welcomes papers and submissions addressing a broad range of topics, including:

  • Autonomous vehicle technology
  • Connected infrastructure and Mobility-as-a-Service
  • Assistive technologies and transportation solutions for people with disabilities
